The Preservation Society of Asheville and Buncombe County typically hosts an afternoon house tour featuring homes of interest to collectors attending the National Arts and Crafts Conference. The 2021 Historic Homes tour is still available for purchase and will be so throughout the year as an ongoing fundraiser.

Bruce Johnson

Historian Bruce Johnson recorded a walking tour of the 1913 Grove Park Inn. As the author of four books relating to the Grove Park Inn, Bruce will provide personal insight into the architectural design of the structure, as well as to the original furnishings from the Roycrofters, the Heywood-Wakefield Company, and the White Furniture Company.

Founded in 1905 as an Arts and Crafts endeavor, Biltmore Estate Industries moved next door to the Grove Park Inn in 1917. The new owner, Fred Seely, the designer and general manager of the Grove Park Inn, shortened the name to Biltmore Industries and constructed five Arts and Crafts buildings to house the woodworkers and weavers under his direction.

In 2022, please see the schedule for specific hours during the National Arts and Crafts Conference weekend. The tours are free to all conference attendees.
